Questions and Answers
Kaspersky VirusDesk uses antivirus databases and reputation information from Kaspersky Security Network. It notifies about known threats detected in the file and shows detailed information about each threat. Kaspersky Virus Desk does not disinfect files.
Important: Kaspersky VirusDesk cannot be used for protection against viruses and threats.
The results of a scan performed by Kaspersky VirusDesk may differ from scan results of other Kaspersky antivirus solutions due to differences in their settings.
Kaspersky VirusDesk scans files and archives up to 50 MB in size. To scan multiple files, compress them to an archive with the word “virus” or “infected” as a password. If you want to scan a larger file, use Kaspersky Whitelist, which checks files’ reputation by their checksum.
Kaspersky VirusDesk checks the reputation of the submitted link in Kaspersky Security Network and shows one of the following results:
- The link is malicious or You risk losing your data by following this link. There is a risk of data loss or harm to your computer if you follow this link. We advise you against following such links.
- The link may be unsafe. The link or the content of the target page can be used for data interception or for harming your device or files. You may follow the link at your own risk.
- The link is safe. The link does not pose any harm to your data or your device. The content of the target page falls under a known category in Kaspersky Security Network.
- The link leads to applications that displays advertisements. The content of the target page includes applications that show advertising materials.
- No information found about the link. The Kaspersky Security Network database has insufficient information for >Important: unlike Kaspersky antivirus software, Kaspersky VirusDesk does not scan website’s traffic or content (scripts, text, or multimedia files). The reputation of the link does not reflect the current state of its content, which is why the results of the VirusDesk scan may differ from the results of scans performed by antivirus solutions.
Kaspersky VirusDesk can detect which type of file-encrypting malware was used, but it cannot decrypt files. To restore your files, use our free decryption tools: https://noransom.kaspersky.com.
A false detection is a situation when a threat is detected in a safe file or link.
If you disagree with the scan result, you can send the file or link to the Antivirus for further analysis using the Submit for analysis button on the scan result page.
Please note that files submitted for analysis must not exceed 35 MB.

После перехода на официальный сайт Virus Total, достаточно выбрать файл для проверки на жёстком диске или указать любой линк из сети Всемирной паутины. После этого остаётся нажать соответствующую кнопку и запустить процедуру автоматической диагностики. Спустя несколько секунд отобразится страница с результатом проверки. Также поддерживает поиск по хешам. Сервис покажет результат, если файл уже ранее отправляли на проверку другие посетители сайта.
Пользователь сможет увидеть детальные сведения о проверенном объекте, а также просмотреть точные данные о типе вредоносного содержимого. Ссылаясь на полученную информацию, можно будет воспользоваться обычным антивирусом или просто удалить найденные угрозы.
